Question thunk when accelerating from stop

Hello Everyone,
I have been wrestling with this thud from accelerating from a dead stop for a while. 99 f150 4.6 4x4 supercab shortbox

I have heard it said that it is related to the yoke on the drive shaft. I think it bumps the transmission when you first start moving. And that by applying grease to the inside of the yoke it help to quiet it down.

Now i tried this and It worked for a short time, but the thud returned quickly.

I had given up on solving this until i recently added a set of extra leafs to my leaf springs. I also changed from Carquest to Edelbrock shocks, but i feel like this is unrelated to the problem.

I did notice that the thus is totally gone now, and wonder if this little bit of added mass in the leaf pack changed the drive line relation somehow allowing for a touch of extra room now so it doesn't hit anymore.

Can this be true or am i crazy? Either way i am happy the problem is gone but i would like to know what fixed it.

My other theory is that my 150k springs were weak and allowing the driveline to flex and possibly axel wrap?

On a second question, is it possible that my transmission with 150k on it can be slowing my truck down a good bit? I have almost all the easy mods done already, but it has no off the line power. I realize the 35"s don't help but the 4.56 should have made up for it. There is no way i caqn get any tire spin unless its raining.
