A few days ago, my transmission started to sputter when in drive and giving it gas from a stop. Well I parked it and the next day it would not move at all. I changed the fluid and filter but no such luck. Any clue what it may be? Some people say it could be the torque converter and other people say I will need a complete rebuild.

 

You need to put a pressure gauge on the tranny and check the pressures. If you've never done this take it to a trained tech. If you want to just pull out the tranny yourself and have it rebuilt, then make sure to flush out the tranny cooler and lines. Depending on the year, Ford recommended replacing the tranny cooler.
