Transmission Bogging down
Transmission Bogging down
I have a 95 F150 with a 5.0 V8 and a 4R70W auto and about 203,000 on it. I bought this truck this past summer so I don't really have any history of the vehicle.
many times this winter, the transmission would seem to slip while accelerating from a stop until the engine had warmed up with 5-10 minutes of driving. Once warmed up everything seemed to be fine. This would happen even when it wasn't freezing cold out (40s).
Tonight the transmission was doing something different. It seemed like if I didn't accelerate very gently the truck bogged down. There are no strange sounds or anything else noticible besides it bogging down. I didn't want to keep driving around so I don't know if it would have gone away after warming up. I should note that the temperature out is 54 degrees so it really isn't very cold.
I really know very little about the workings of automatics so your help is greatly appreciated.
