I have a 97 4x4 with a 4.6. I have noticed sometimes when the trans is shiffting into overdrive, it feels like it slips into neutral for a split second. The trans has been serviced every 25k miles or so and has had no other problems. Thanks for all the help!!!

I would be concerned with either fried direct clutches or a fried od band. The bands don't hold up very well. There are some high carbon ones on the market I have been getting recently,but I find them very hard to get steadily.
