Tranny shift

I have a 93 f150 with 102k on it. I have code "T" on my sticker, which I see is an AOD. When accelerating slowly, I hear a low whining sound coming from I guess the trans. I also notice that when I am slowing down, for say a curve, and then give it gas after the curve, the trans doesn't shift up for acceleration. It is as if I am driving a manual with it in 4th instead of 2nd. I have to push hard on pedal to get it to shift into a lower gear. Otherwise, it drives fine....no slipping or vibrations. I have no idea when last trans flush was done.

Any ideas on what to do? I would guess a flush and fill would be in order, but any other fixes come to mind?
