Unhappy 4x4 problem?

Yesterday my 4x4 and low range light began flashing on and off for bout 2-3 miles then stopped.I could hear clicking near switch on dash.Actually tried putting into 4x4 this morning but it wouldnt engage. As I drove off it made loud thump the could be felt easily. sounds as if in 4x4 low range now,but I dont believe it is as no wheel hop when making a tight turn. also battery seems drained this afternoon after I parked it this morn.HELP!!!!

That happend to me. It ended up being that the 4x4 shift needed to be greased. It would get stuck between 4low and no gear.....Try greasing.......Good luck....

4x4 prob

should have also noted its electronic shift on dash not floor shifter. Also lost speedo for about 3-4 minutes on way home from work after the 4x4 and llow range lights started going on and off. A friend of mine suggested it might be the speed sensor for the trans?
