Transmission Problems
I have a 2002 F150 supercrew with 112000. miles that is starting to give me tranny problems. I noticed it a few months back and it would come and go every so often. The problem is that usually when I take off either in the morning or after a short drive the tranny gets stuck in, I think 3rd gearor at about 45-55 mph and the tachometer is around 3000 rpms. When I give it more gas it slips as if I had put the truck in neutral and the rpm's wind out.I just returned from having the tranny serviced (new tran filter and flush) but the problrm is still there.Anyone have similiar problem or suggestions or help. I plan on taking the truck to a tranny shop on Monday

Sounds like its new tranny time. Don't feel bad, I have 155K+ miles on mine and just had mine rebuilt. You may say that's not bad, except for the fact that Ford put a new one in at 95K miles (thank goodness for extended warranties!!).
I paid $1300 for a tranny rebuild and I am not sure what they did, but I now have a heck of a lot more torque than I ever have.
Truck has been paid for for awhile, so guess you got to look at it as a couple months worth of payments (or so my wife says

Thanks for the replies! I just returned from the tranni shop and of course when I took off this morning to the shop it starting doing it again, but this time when I let off the gas for a moment and then stepped back on the gas it went into the next gear, just like it would when I initially had this problem months ago. It ran fine all the way to tranni shop. At the shop they test drove it and it drove fine. After hooking it up to the computor the only reading that came back was that the rev limiter was reached, which was probably from Saturday's problem. So the shop told me to just drive it for now and bring it back if it acts up again.
