replacing Tranny

So I blew out my tranny becuase of my supercharger. I bought a new Monster Box from MAD and am currently in the process of removing the stock tranny. Does anyone have any tips on getting to the uppermost bellhousing bolts? they are definately a pain. I've got all but the last two out. I have removed the starter, a couple frame supports, the front and rear drive lines, transfer case, and drained the tranny. thanks.

The top two bolts are the first ones I take out. With the transmission supported, I'll remove the crossmember, then take the jack out completely and let the trans hang supported only by the engine and motormounts. You should be able to see the bolts looking up at them from the rear of the transmission above the output shaft. Then a 4' long extension, 13mm swivel socket and out they come. Roll the jack back under the trans and take out the remaining bellhousing bolts.

Chinook,

How did you acquire the "tires for life" That could come in handy. Was there any catches like you can't be doing smokey burnouts in front of the ford dealership

Thanks all for the info. Got the tranny out....with the 4' extension. That made it alot easier. Got the new Monster Box in and LOVE IT! If anyone ever decides to put one in you will have to get a chip burned or reburned if you have one already. Becasue the stall speed is a little higher the computer reads the speed sensor as failed which causes it to not lock up the torque converter...ever. FYI.

The free tires for life deal was through my local Ford Dealer. The only catches were that I had to get my tires rotated every 5000 miles and they can only replace with the same size tire. I burn em up all the time. So far ive gotten 2 tires from them free with two more on the way. They dont even blink when they see the supercharger.
