I have a 98' f150 it now has about 104,000 miles on this tranny, and i think it is about to go on me. Well I go off roading sometimes and I need a transmission that will hold up on me. Can anyone please give me an idea on where and how much a brand new transmisson would be.

Take a look at the Factory Tech Monster Box. I've seen some posts that say it is tough as nails and priced very reasonably . I think madferraristi could hook you up? I'll be in the market for a new 4r70w for my 98 soon, and I think that's my choice...Good luck, let us know how you make out.

I found a Ford reman for $ 1,650 from the dealer - rebuilt to with all o.e.m. parts.
The Monster box may be more than I need.
Add the Factory Tech VB and you're at about $ 1,900 - that's my plan.
