Dropped tranny pan and found this in it!! What is it???

Exclamation Dropped tranny pan and found this in it!! What is it???

i drained the fluid out of my torque converter and then dropped my tranny pan to get the rest of the fluid and install a drain plug kit, but then i found this sitting in the bottom of my pan......

what is this and where does it go??? please help

Just throw it away spider. That is the plug for the dipstick tube used when the tranny was manufactured.

It's used at the factory to seal the hole where the filler tube goes when they are assembling the vehicle at the factory. They just push it down into the pan when they install the dipstick and such.
Throw it away, it means nothing, exept that the pan probably hasen't been pulled off since the vehicle was manufactured.

phew!!!!!! thats the best news i heard in awhile i thought my tranny was dropping parts and was gonna break soon. thanks for the help

just finished everything finally(drop the pan, drain TC, put drain plug on tranny pan, installed everything back) took about 11 1/2 quarts of Mercon. only took me about 8 hours, had to make about 3 trips to auto parts store for different things and a couple breaks here and there
