Unhappy Transmission model number?

I have a 2000 F150 with a burned up trans. I am trying to locate a used trans rather than having it rebuilt. I am being asked what type of trans to I have. I need to know if it is a ######FA or a ######JA. How do I find out?

Probably a 4R70W. The trans identification tag will be on the passenger's side of the trans, in between the two cooler fittings on the case. Additionally, the 4R70W trans pan is kinda squareish, the bigger 4R100/E4OD pan is a monster, rectangular with a stepped kick out along the rear of the trans.

I'm currently working on a page that would answer this question for ya. Not all the info for sticks are filled in, but the autos are complete and accurate.
