Hi, I did some searcing and didn't see my probelm listed.

I have a 01 screw with 5.4, 91k miles now. No mods other than a K&N filter.

It wants to start off in second gear 90% of the time. Hot or cold it has the same behavior. I did switch to Mercon V about 15k ago and put in a new filter. Seems to behave the same.

If I am hard in the gas it seems to perform more like it should, but everyday normal driving has it starting in second gear a lot.

Wondering is this is the begining of anything that could be big? I am thinking of the Troyer Perf Factory Tech Valve Body upgrade too.

Which tranny?

The 4R100 (trans code E) or the 4R70w (trans code U)? If you put in Mercon V, you better have the 4R70w.
