I just went and looked the only thing that i could see was E that was the only thing after transmission. And also i had my wife put it in reverse while i was under it and when she put it in reverse it makes like a sound like either air or fluid moving fast in the transmission. Only makes that noise in reverse. Someone had put a shift kit in it ahile ago also. Hope you know what this is.. Thanks.

Sorry, I ment to say trans code E is for the E4OD.

Heavy duty tranny unless it was overheated, then things just start going wrong. What is the milage? How bout the fluid level while idling after shifting and pausing for a second at each gear? Does the fluid smell burnt? Is it nice and pink?

It has 137,006 miles on it but he had told me that the tranny had been rebuilt a few thousand miles ago.. fluid doesent seem to smell burnt and the level is fine or so i think it is... he said he had put the biggest tranny pan on it might need more fluid then specs?? Thanks for your reply.

Never heard of a big pan for the E4OD, maybe he ment a big cooler. Thats a good thing.

Proper fluid check...

With a hot tranny and engine idling
park on level
run through each of the gears from P to 1 and back
with the engine still running check the dipstick

Report back with the level.

Ok i checked the fluid like you said and it stays the same. It now seems to want to grab a little more at low acceleration (starts to vibrate) Have all the other gears no prob. And yes i did check this before i had bought it, it had happenend the day after i bought it.
