Worried about my 4R70W

All, My truck was recently in a wreck. When the truck was hit it was parked in front of my house with no one in it. The truck was hit so hard that it was pushed over a curb through my yard into my driveway and then out into the middle of the street. I can see the skid marks left by my rear tires and they go for over 15 feet. My question is do any of you experts out there think that the transmission was damaged at all by all of the pushing that was done to the truck while it was in park. What about the driveshaft, axles, or differential? I've taken to a Ford dealership to have them make the repairs to the truck, but they don't think that there is any problem with the transmission. I should push the dealer to look at the transmission and make sure that there is not any damage to it. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Sam

I would be worried too. In a word, yes have the tranny checked out thoroughly. Mounts, case, transfer case (if applicable) should all be checked.

With a hit that hard, the insurance company hasn't totalled it out? I can't imagine the frame to be any good, and this is usually where the insurance companies throw in the towel and consider the vehicle totaled.

No, They haven't totalled the truck out yet. The insurance adjuster finally went out to the salvage yard on friday and said that the truck was much too nice to total out. They had it towed to a local Ford repair shop to be torn down and an estimate written. I've talked to my Service advisor and he suggested that if the truck is not totalled then I should demand a new transmission from the insurance company. The Shop estimator told me not to worry about the transmission, that Ford builds them to take punishment like this, but that he would pull the pan and check for metal chunks in the fluid. I can't believe that both of these guys work for the same dealership. I've known my Service advisor for years and don't think he would steer me wrong.

A 2002 was hit that bad and they want to fix it?? What was the estimate for repairs...when you find out? As far as the shop estimator's statement, "Ford builds them to take this punishment" he must be smoking crack!!
