Limited Slip?
Limited Slip?
Whats everones opion on this. I had a guy tell me since my truck was a V6 not to put a limited Slip diff. because it would be work my engine even more having to move 2 tires? Anyone have any info or opions on this?
I put the Auburn Limited Slip in my truck this year back in April. It may very well be the best thing I have ever done to a vehicle to improve it. My 2WD charged through the mud, I mean soup mess, when going turkey hunting later that month.
My V6 drives that limited slip just fine.
No cause for worry.

Yep, great concept that can only be beat traction wize with a locker. But for the daily driver, couldn't be more perfect. That dude sounds like he would try to change sparkplugs on a diesel...
By the way, welcome to posting on the forums. What do you have that you wanna put a LS in?

When your driving in a straight line, both wheels are being driven anyway. A limited slip makes sure both wheels continue to work together when the road conditions change. One wheel on ice, the other on dry pavement for example. With an open diff the wheel with the least amount of traction will spin. The limited slip keeps both wheels powered to get you moving faster.
Thanks for the info! I will be towing trailers in the future.. specifically a boat/quad trailer and when pulling a boat of the ramp i get alot of 1 wheel spinning trying to get out of it. So i thought this would be the best bet to resolve slipping on the ramp. What do you think?
Dead on! That is what it excells at. You may still get 2 wheel spin, but it is less likely, and certainly not as bad. I have seen guys with 1 spinning tire actually go backwards into the water!
