Anyone installed the Hurst on the M5OD?

Has anyone installed the Hurst on the M5OD? Do you like it? I have a 99 F150 4x4 4.6 5sp reg cab short bed that I bought brand new and I was just looking to improve the shifter feel. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

There are a few of us here that have done the install. It's an improvement but you still have the crappy innards to contend with. All in all, I would say it's worth it.

I posted this shortly after I installed the shifter. I might be useful.

Here are some pics and a bit of an explaination on the install that may or may not be of some help to some of you:

Here is a pic of the factory shifter with the upper lever removed, and next to it is the inner boot. The toughest part of the install was dealing with the inner boot. There are four 8mm hex head screws that fasten it. Two of them are exposed forward of the shifter but two are under the carpet rear of the shifter. It was tough getting at the ones under the carpet. Hurst says in the instructions that "some" trucks will have two of the screws under the carpet. If yours does, it will be much easier to pull the carpet back as much as you can.

Here is what you see when you have all of the factory shifter off. Make sure to put a shop rag in there when you remove the remnants of the old gasket.

Here is the first part of the new shifter to be installed. It's shipped assembled so you have to take it apart then put it back together. It's actually pretty easy from here untill you get back to those two 8mm screws under the carpet.

Here is the main part of the new shifter. I was supposed to take the shift lever off to do this part but I bent my allen wrench trying to remove the bolts.

This pic shows the inner boot in place. It requires some cutting to make it fit. I didn't get a pic of how frusterated I was trying to work around the carpet. I eventually pulled it back enough to reposition the clip that had moved, that I couldn't see, that one of the screws goes into. I also didn't get a pic of the bone head move I did leaving a screwdriver under the carpet after I had put it back in place.

What I'm showing you here is how close the factory boot comes to the plastic covering the heating/cooling componants. I was going to use the Hurst boot but it doesn't fit too well near that plastic piece.

Here is the job complete.

It certainly shortens the throw. Well worth the money. I curled mine up so I could hold it like the pistol grip shifter.
