Transmission Repaired

2004 F150 Heritage 4x4
4.6 L V8

Well, I had the ole flashing o/d light issue and took my truck into the shop. My service manager told me they would turn it around for me in about 4 days (of course, I knew better) after 10 days I finally received my truck. The reason for the delay he stated was b/c of a nationwide back order on a part for the tranny. Misery loves company so that made me feel a little better although I am concerned that so many folks are having tranny problems with their f-150s. Here is a break down of the work completed on my service order:
Run Electronic trans diag koeo no codes 1741 pinpoint test
RR trans pan full of metal
RR trans teardown overhall
flush converter, overhaul valve body
replace converter
mount trans to bench install inline filter flush cooler

So I think the torque converter went out. I told them that if there were any upgrades that need to be performed while they were in there that they should do that so I won't have any more tranny problems and they said they would. But all it looks like they may have overhauled (upgraded) was the valve body. Any body on the board have a clue? And what is 1741 pinpoint test?

Thanks for your help in advance.

DN

1741 is a torque converter clutch control error.
