Is it just me or is it everybody?
I have a 97 f-150 flareside 4x4 w/ a 4.6 5spd. The clutch was replaced about a 1.5 years ago. My mechanic said the clutch still looked like it still had some life left in it and the flywheel really wasn't burned up at all. Which means to me was that it was the slave cylinder. But ever since it was fixed all is well but to me it feels like that it is not as solid as a manual should be. What I mean is that if you look at the stats a manual will tow about 2000lbs less than the auto's. And on trucks that have the 302 the manuals will tow about 300lbs more than an auto. What has changed and does anyoune else feel that these clutch systems are weak?
