Transmission Code on '93 F-150 4X4
I have a 1993 F-150 5.0 extended cab 4X4 the truck is an early (feb) '93 and is what they called a "heavy half" <-----why I don't know a half ton is a half ton, But anyways I am tryin to locate a tranny or a tranny kit for it the Transmission code on the door tag is a "T" does anyone know what transmission it is? I know it's either an AOD or AODE I need someones help before I go buy a rebuild or rebuild kit for the wrong tranny. I only have 1st and 2nd gears left and need my truck back soon. Thanks

Probably E4OD. If the pan is square then AODE/4R70W. If the pan is rectangle with a corner cut out then E40D.
If you have the push button on the gear shifter you definitely DO NOT have an AOD.
There are other things to look at but that is the easiest other than counting the bolts on the pan but I don't remember the count off the top of my head I think 20 for E40D
