werid noise?

I have a 98 F150 4X4 triton V8 Automatic

Not sure what the tranny is??

Any how when I come to a full stop and take off, even very slowly I get what I call a flat spot? grind, vibration what ever it is. It happens just for a split second!! Then goes away??
If you never drove the truck you might no notice it. It seems to be more noticable when making a right turn, but sounds like it is coming from the rear?
Fluid is full and clean looking.

Thanks

I don't know what it might be. I'm having the same problem...I noticed the same noise on my way home today and when I got to the house, I put it in reverse to back up and about 10 feet later everything locked up and the truck shut off completely. I looked under it and the fluid was leaking out pretty steady...checked the level and it appears that it is completely empty. I went offroading yesterday but don't remember hitting anything because I am very careful with my truck. Can anyone help me out too? Thanks...

SP

I'm going to try putting fluid in tomorrow and see if it helps...

I went to see my tranny guy, and he is swamped with work!! But he said he will get to it next week. I am driving it still, and is hasn't really gotten any worse at this point??

I am having him do all the 90,000 mile fluid chage also while it is there.
I will let you no what he tells me when its done. Will be at least a week from now.

Well I went to the tranny guy and they did a power flush and filled with all new fluid and filters.
Also had them drain and clean the rear end fluid and replace the rotted cover.
They never found anything wrong with the tranny or rear end!!
Front end was as solid as a rock!~!
So the thought is that it is a dry CV Joint under the boot?? Going to check further today??

Ok sorry it took so long!!

All fixed! I guess I have the limited slip rear end and they develop a chatter in the turns??
We change the fluid and added the adative that ford came out with and it tooka day or to of driving but the chatter has all but gone at this point, it gets better everday!!

Its been 4 days now and it has gone from being in the right and left turns to just a very light feel in the left turn only and that is getting better also.

Guy said to drive it for 2 weeks and bring back if I still having a problem.
