transmission identification

I have a 1998 F-150 SC 2wd with a 5.4L engine and was curious how I can id the automatic tranny thats in it. I looked around the site for a database but didn't find one, any help appreciated. :o

hey thanks a ton!!! Thats just the kind of thing I was looking for, I'll check it out on the truck in a few.

Maybe we should ask the moderators to gather info like this and put it in a database of some sort?

anyway thanks again.


Update: I have an E4OD, and even though my truck has the tow package it has a 3.55 non LS rear axle

I see alot of the 98-99 5.4's with e40d transmissions
