2001 starting to slip?

I have a 2001 V6 and it has recently started slipping when I start from a red light. when I gas it, it slips, then kicks in. only when first starting and not while cruising.

what needs done? Fluid change?

Thanks for any help

You may have already done this, but check the transmission fluid level! Mine did that when it was low on fluid by only 1 quart.

Take it in to the local tranny shop and have a complete flush done. This will replace 100% of that old fluid with nice, new, clean stuff. It will even get the fluid in the converter. Make sure they replace the filter as well, this will ensure that tranny has 100% flow to all the vital parts.

Considering the cost of a flush, it's a good place to start. Hopefully this solves your problem, and it's not something more serious.
