question about accumulator
ok, sorry for wasting your time, but i was reading back on my previous posts, but i am going to fix the 1-2 accumulator spring. now this is my question. i got a diagram breakdown and it only shows 1 spring. you said to replace both, but there is only one. so is this just an update, and what about the accumulator cap? is it really necesary to replace it? what if i dont, is there a bad effect? sorry but thanks LOL

just looked at a parts breakdown from ford for a 94 4r70w and it showed only one spring apiece in each accumulator. we are talking about a 4r70w, right? mabe you are thinking of a different tranny. reguardless, i have ONE spring on order. also, i didnt order a cap. if i really need one, please let me know

Yes it is possible. I thought all years used 2 springs but I have seen alot of variations in factory transmissions.
I don't build transmissions so I'm not up on when they did what exactly with different parts. I install alot of transmissions and have good luck at converting later model transmissions to work in place of early ones and to fix minor problems in transmissions while they are in the vehicle when possible.
