shifter handle broke off

Last night the shifter handle broke off my F150. Today, I find the selector rod (?) is broken competely, about 2/3 of the way down. The only way to shift is to get under the truck and use a hammer.

Question, this metal part is called "selector rod" correct?

Where do I get another?

Any suggestions about the replacement would be greatly appreciated.

Thank, lvdpb

i would not use a hammer to select gears. this could damage your transmission on the inside. to fix it, you COULD weld it. is it broken inside the cab, or externaly?
