Anyone diagnose this?

Noticed this the other day when rotating my tires. I'm not much good on tranny or differential problems. Anyone got any ideas? I tightened up the differential bolts.

Looks like, and hopefully it is, just a bad seal. I would remove, and replace with a new seal. Wash the oil off and keep an eye on it for a few days. I had that problem too, and it never came back.

I am thinking that is it because it is right where the seal leaks and it is in the rear of the diff. Typically if oil is in the front, it is something else. Pretty easy and cheap fix if that is it.

Anyone else have any other insight of what it might be?

Cool

Check the little "junction box" for the rear brake lines that is mounted on the differential. If your sway bar has hit it (or anything else for that matter) you could have a leak there.

The rubber brake hose feeding the junction could be cracked as well.

I hope you are lucky and it is just the differential seal. Check it out and let us know what you find...

duh how stupid can u be? it has to be a bad seal, and you do have to fill it back up with fluid when doing so, because theres fluid that comes out, so u have to replace it, and if it requires some sort of friction modifier, u should add that too. that is unless u want ur rear end to sieze up
