yes i searched for it but didnt find much, just curious what everyone suggests for brands... is redline/amsoil worth the money? i have a 4r70w so it should be mercon III, right?

 

No, use Mercon V only. They switched to Mercon V I believe in 1998.

Any good name brand Mercon V will do. It is semi-synthetic or 100% synthetic anyway. Castrol, Mobil1, Pennzoil, etc. Whatever brand you can find.

Don't forget to drain the torque converter.

 

Regular service with any fluid is a start in the right direction. If price is not option, the full synthetic is superior.
