Question P0743 '96 Cougar

Help!
My 96 cougar threw a CEL P0743. The scanner said TCC electrical failure.

OK...so where do i go from here? One place told me i needed a new trans and another wouldn't even look at it because they thought the 'electrical failure' meant big troubles.

Ford dealership will diagnosis it for $82, but i already know it has a P0743 code.

This transmission was rebuilt 16,000 miles ago and i am thinking that i got royally screwed on it.

Please give me some type of feedback that will allow me to get this thing fixed.

Do i need to replace the TCC solenoid?
Do i need a new Torque converter?
Or do i need to let the dealership bend me over?

I just can't believe that i may need to replace the tranny again...I'd rather push the car off a cliff and watch it burn. Sorry, but i'm just a tad frustrated with this whole situation.

Sounds like you need a new solenoid to me.
