My son's '97 F150 is having tramission issues. I think the trans need to be rebuilt/replaced. Any ideas on the best online pricing for this trans? Nothing extra - just a stock rebuild.

FWIW - The truck is a '97 2wd F150 with 130K that we bought used. I did a fluid and filter change about a week ago and found the factory plug in the pan!! I drained the converter and refilled with 11.5 quarts of fluid. Now, a week later, the trans is slipping in 1 and 2 and seems to have no 3rd at all. If I fiddle with the OD cancel button (OD Off, then OD back On)- the engine will free-rev in third. My assumption is that the trans is toast.

A good used trans should be in the 450-650 price range depending on mileage. Rebuilding of your trans should cost no more than 1500 installed.
