TC shudder or not?

I am recently noticing a slight shudder when I start out from a stop. I thought it was a torque converter shudder, but I may be wrong. It is not all the time, but most. It happens only from a stop. It happens a couple of times in a row, with a slight pause in between, like in each of the first couple of gears. It goes away after 20-30 MPH. It feels like rumble strips, but not as "heavy". It is not too bad, but noticable. I haven't tried it in 4L or 4H, just 2H. I have an automatic.
Any ideas anyone?

Torque converter shudder doesn't happen at low speeds. It happens at higher speeds (35-55 MPH) when the torque converter clutch is applied.

You probably have a problem with a u-joint, a slip yoke, or a carrier bearing. The carrier bearing is only on trucks with two piece drive shafts.

Hey, I've got that exact same shudder (1999 5.4 auto). I really don't know what it is. I thought it was something with the tranny. Especially since it's got over 100K miles and I haven't changed the fluid yet. Oh, well. I kinda like it now...makes me hungry
