who makes the best shift kit 4r70w?
i know this Q' been asked before but i want to put a kit in my tranny an the next week or too and i wanted to see if there was any new input from the guys that have shift kits, i would like to know what you guys used and how you like it and if you would recomend it, also do you think i should go with a whole valve body switch? any input would be nice and thanks again
here is a pick of my beast too
I recomend the Factory tech valve body. Simple no hassle instalation no down time and proven performance, also excelant price and value. Very good tech suport. Call Mike Troyer you will be pleased !!!!!!
B&M and Transgo both make good kits. I installed a B&M and used the 4x4/Heavy Duty setting. The other choice was Street/Strip/Race setting. 4-5 hours to install and have not regretted a minute of the time it took. GREAT shifts, quick and firm.
Heard good things about the FTVB and their customer support.
Good Luck.

the problem is the hyperteck tuner was stolen when my truck got brocken into so i have no way of changing it with the tuner unless i get it flashed back to stock and i dont want to spend the money to do that, the tuner didnt firm them up that much, i just want to know if it could damage anything

max what combo were you using on your last truck? i want to use the FTVB because i have heard so many good things, by harsh do you mean really hard shifts? becase that is what i want i just dont want it to damage the tranny transfer or any thing else on the drive line
On my 2000 4R70W I installed a Baumann Engineering shift kit on setting 4B. It was 1-5 settings, an additional "supercharge" setting, and a "large" spring for what they call "passenger punishing". At the same time, I installed both Sonnax valves. I combined that with a standard Superchip program. Without the chip, it was snappy, but not harsh. With the chip, it was definately hard. It was second gear chirps at anything over 1/4 throttle at the 1-2 shift. I would say it created the maximum firmness needed for any street application. I've installed many shift kits in a variety of vehicles and I prefer the harder settings usually.
thanks for the info i will order my FTVB in a few days i am going to start a posr for everyone that is running a FTVB to see how they like them, and thanks again for all your help
