Question Fully Built 4R70W

I got a 1999 F-150 4x4 w/5.4. My trans is definatly on its way out (doesn't take to well to 500+ ft/lbs of torque). Is there any companys that sell a crate fully built 4R70W or would it be a better idea to do a fully built 4R100 swap?

Thanks

I just did the 4R70W race build and plan on putting 500/600 to it. I was told that Art Carr makes a monster box that'll handle 1000hp but it runs about $3500! Once i get mine back together i'll see how it holds up and inform everyone. The problem with the 4r100 is computers and wiring!!

Do a search here for a "Factory Tech" Monster box. I don't know if it is released yet but I remember hearing about a 4R70W based monster box. This tranny is from the same vendor (Factory Tech) that makes the Factory Tech Valve Bodies that are considered the best on the market. I don't know about prices but I have heard nothing but good about their products.

Thanks for the imput guys.

I am looking for something that will take about 600-800 HP (800+ ft/lbs). I see lentech has a 4r70 that will take 1000HP so I gotta look into that. I couldn't find any specs for any of the Art Carr transmissions on their website.

I saw on the got-pressure forums that there is a working FT 4r70W that has been given to an individual for testing. No final pricing yet. but I hear it may be around $2000, but the guys in charge have not yet said exactly how much it will be

This question will likely be answered this week or next at the latest. The 4r70w unit is ready we are just waiting on the bean counters to sort their end of it. Gregg and I have worked long and hard on this. There will be a very good line of products from rebuild kits to shift kits available for these transmissions in the near future. Yes I said shift kit, not valvebody. I believe the shift kits will only cover 98 up valvebodies as the pre 98 ones were not up to par for reworking. Don't quote me on it ,but I heard around $2400 for this unit with Jaspers 2 year nationwide warranty.
