I have a 94 150. Shifting from first to second is too hard. The tranny acts like it wants out of first a little too soon and doesn't like to downshift from second to first with out nearly flooring the throttle. To better describe it, up shifting to second and down shifting to first are fine when I'm driving with a heavy foot, but if I'm driving normal it bangs out of first to second and won't smoothly downshift to first say after I turn a corner in an intersection going 5-10 miles an hour and want to accelerate away.

My friend posted this same question on another site and go one response.... replace the sonnex valve.

The tranny was serviced a couple time the last couple years, so the fluid and filter are good.

Thanks for any input as I have not a clue and would love it if I can pull the pan and valve body to do a quick fix.
