Question shudder and shift delay when turning

Hello All!
I need help figuring out why my 2002 F-150 occasionally shudders and then engages in gear when turning, usually to the right. The truck now has 73000 miles on it and has been doing this since it had 30000 miles or so. I have taken it to the dealer at 36000 for service and they perfomed extensive checks on the tranny and found nothing wrong. I took it in again for service at 55000 miles and had them check it again and they still found nothing. Any ideas? I was told that there is a sensor in the rear end that could affect shifting. Any truth to this? Could it be a rear end issue all along? Any input is much appreciated.

Do you have a limited slip rear diff? If the shudder only happens occaisionally on dry pavement this might be the culprit. My 1998 does this sometimes while turning.

If that's it it's not a big deal. It's just the diff trying to keep the rear wheels turning at the same speed while you are turning. I've read elsewhere that you can add a friction modifier to the diff lube that will help.

Took me by suprise because this is the first vehicle with a LSD rear end I've owned. I've just decided to live with it as it only happens occaisionally.
