I have an 03 F-150 supercrew king ranch 4x4 5.4 automatic. It feels like to me that the collumn shifter is a really cheap peace of equipment. I know it's not just my truck because I drive other ford vehicles that have the same collumn shifter and they all feel the same. It seems like it is really loose and sometimes it has to "snap" into place feeling like I broke it. On the new F-150s, Expys, and explorers, the collumn shifter feels nice and tight. Is there any way I can help the problem or possibly install a shifter from a new expedition or explorer? Sorry about the long post.
