Yes, I've done lots of searches, but my perfectionism with my truck is making me ask this question: Is the Mercon type of Mobil 1 ATF the one to use? My trans code is 'U'. 47R70W, right?
Which Mobil 1 should I use? Also, is Lube Guard as great as everyone seems to say it is? I'm thinking of putting that in too.

I use Amsoil ATF in my 4R70W transmission and it is working well for me. It is a synthetic transmission fluid.

 

Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF is Mercon rated, NOT Mercon V rated. Most of the 4R70W trannys use Mercon V, although some of the earlier ones did use regular Mercon. You will need to check the dipstick and verify since yours is a 97.
