slow shifting in lower gears
slow shifting in lower gears
99 explorer sport
About six weeks ago my expl. wouldn't stay running without keeping the accelerator pressed. Long story short - my mechanic replaced the TPS and AIS (didn't help) but found that it was carbon buildup in the throttle body. He removed it, soaked it and it fixed that problem. But ever since the truck revs too high before it shifts. It only happens in the lower gears and especially shifting into reverse. (I wait a few seconds until I hear it shift then accelerate very slowly).
My mech. changed the trans. fluid but it didn't help. I called the trans. place - they said it is a hydrolic problem and they would have to tear it down.
I find it too much of a coincidence that I didn't have the problem before the throttle body was removed. Is there an adjustment on it that should have been done?
Any help would be appreciated.
