VSS gear problem

I have 4.56's with 285/75/R16 (32.8) tires. I have a 23 t white speeometer gear for a R470W. Mathmatically I call for a 22 tooth and can't find one. Should I move to a 21 because I occasionally pull a code at high speeds saying it's out of range?

They are cheap and easy enough to change.

Compare your odometer mileage to some milemarkers on the highway with both gears and keep the one that is most accurate.

That's all I got. Good luck.

Shrike, if you find one let me know. I've looked all over for one my truck. The only ones I can find is at dealerships and all they have is the ones for the 3 stock tire sizes. I remember someone posting either here or on FTW that they found a website that carried them (he had 4.56s and 35s). I looked at the website a couple times but could never find them.

The best selection I've found for the 8 tooth drive gear are from steeda.com. They are in 18, 21, and 23. If you need a 23 they tell you on the phone to buy two because the pitch is so fierce it lasts 20k miles.
