Powertrax

I installed a Powertrax No-Slip in my '74 Bronco 9" in August. After all the reviews I'd read on this product, I expected it to be pretty tame and pretty quiet. It turned out to be extremely noisy and quirky. When I make hard right turns, such as turning right at a stop light, it pops and bangs so loud that it startles bystanders and passengers.

I thought, perhaps, there was a problem with my axles, so I pulled them and checked them on centers. They had quite a bit of run-out, so I bought brand new axles and installed them. This made no difference.

In the last month, the locker has started to behave even more strangely. When I leave for work in the morning, it throws me side to side when I'm travelling on asphalt at about 40 mph or slower. It would do this for about a mile and then "loosen up."
Now its beginning to act like this most of the time - it's really starting to bug me and make the truck difficult to drive on pavement.

I've e-mailed Powertrax numerous times and haven't gotten any real insights from them. Now when I e-mail them (and I'm very pleasant and non-threatening) they don't even respond.

I am going to approach them with the suggestion that they send me a new unit and I return the old one for inspection. If they say no, then I will institute legal proceedings to get them to pay to replace their equipment with someone else's.
