E40D Hard Shifts when cold

I have a 94 Ford F150 with a E40D Transmission and 120,000 Miles. It has started shifting hard when cold. After about 5 or 10 minutes it's fine. I have changed fluid and filter but it still persists. It initially seemed to help but then to no avail. Also it has a slight shudder when shifting into overdrive ( or torque converter lockup?).

Any thougts?

I've got a 91, and i have the E40D, and it shifts hard all the time. It, also has a bit of a shutter going from overdrive back into drive when u cram it a little. I think that the shifting hard is kinda good. And then again it is kinda bad. I dont know what to tell u, but i figured i would put my problems out there, cuz i would like to know more about that problem. Someone had told me that i have a heavy duty tranny in it, and that it will always shift hard. But what i dont understand, is when it is loaded and there is a lot of weight, She is as smooth as glass. So, i dont know, and i hope that someone can help the both of us. Srry
