4th to 3rd shift grinds above 40 mph

4th to 3rd shift grinds above 40 mph

Anyone ever had this happen? When I downshift from 4 th to 3rd above 40 mph it grinds ,below it doesn't .I have even tried double clutching ,same thing happens ? Any opinions?

Sounds like a synchronizer. You might want to rule out the clutch by flushing/bleeding it, before having the tranny taken apart.

The owner of a local speed shop just talked me into Redline MTL. He swears it will help syncro problems. I don't know about that but my 5spd shifts much better now.
