5 speed Shifting

What can be done to make my 5 speed shift faster and easier? When I pull away from a stoplght now, it is such a "clunky" manuever that the vehicle behind me almost runs through my tailgate (not quite that bad but it is slow going from 1st to 2nd .) I want to be able to blow off some competition at the "drags" but with this tranny (or maybe it's me) It is impossible. Any suggestions other than get an automatic?

Try switching to Redline D4-ATF, much smoother shifitng. Strange thing is that it takes a while before you'll notice the improvement. Maybe the oil has to work its way throughout first.

I can't find Redline ATF anywhere other than online. Pep Boys, AutoZone, dealer, O'Reilly, no one seems to have it. Is the only way to order online and wait a whole week?
