Angry 2003 150screw Lariat

I need HELP!
First time user with 2003 f-150 S-Crew Lariat 5.4 and 2,700 miles. I just broke down yesterday and here's what went on... trans. started slipping BIG between 1st and 2nd... rpm's went up to 4000 or so...feathered the gas pedal a little bit and 2nd finally engaged with a loud thump and jerk. I parked the truck, had lunch and tried to reverse out of the parking spot after eating. To my suprise NO REVERSE at all... just like it was in neutral. Tried moving tree shifter in case it was a problem with the indicator...no luck. Is this truck known for trans problems? Anyone else had or having similar problems? Quality job 1 I don't think so!

Take it back to the dealer. My friends 03 SCREW had issues with the bed not being secured right, no tranny problems to report.

My friends dad had almost the exact same problem, except it did go into reverse, but it just slipped a lot. I would take it back to the dealership and raise hell.

Got 3200 on mine with no problems, fingers crossed and knocking on wood as I say it. You are covered under warranty, let us know how you made out.

Ford is going to replace trans. I demanded a new unit NOT remanufactured but I was told that none are available due to the line shutting down in June for the new 2004. I don't know how true that is but since I made such a stink about not wanting a remanufactured unit in a brand new truck Ford is GIVING me a 6yr. x 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. What do you think of that?

I have been through your type of ordeal twice before. What ever they give is small satisfaction knowing that you paid good money for a problem vehicle. This offer should be to your satisfaction and not theirs.
