HI!... If you were trying to ask if anyone has installed a after market high stall converter...... I've installed a after market WORLDWIDE TRANSMISSIONS 2400 stall converter in my 4R70-W with my 5.4. If you want a higher stall then I suggest you don't go higher than a 2500 stall. The 5.4 makes most of it's TQ down low around 2300 rpm. So going with a really high stall like 3000 or 3500 would just be wasting that power. Be prepared to go through a ton of rear tires with a higher stall.
HI!... I paid about $800(CAN) for mine and I installed it myself. It was custom built for my application. Best of everything, including a anti-ballooning plate. That's how I destroyed my stock converter. I ballooned it. I know the owner of WORLDWIDE so I got a VERY reduced price on it. It's more like a $1500(CAN) race converter. As for street driving you will have to learn how to launch your truck ALL over again. It's a bit tricky with the higher stall. It's worth it if you have slick and dragrace at the track a lot. Make sure your running a really good tranny cooler or one with a electric fan mounted to it, because the higher stall converter will create much more heat than the stock converter will. Also run some REDLINE D4 synthetic tranny fluid with a TRANSGO shift kit set on it's highest setting for neck snapping hard shifts.
A real good option for that transmission is to get the converter that goes in a Mercury Marauder and having a tranny shop change the coverplate to fit with a billet one. (it has the 11 1/4 bolt pattern and you need the bigger one, so you have to change the coverplate either way) It stalls at 2300 I think, has all furnace brazed impeller and turbine and is a real good piece, they go for about $150 from a dealer, add another 150 for the billet cover and it's a real good buy.
