Question 2002 F150 Supercrew FX4 -> 4L

This is my first 4x4 truck/experience. Question: I was using 4L in wet grass pulling a light trailer. Probably didn't need 4L but never used it and thought I should try it out at least once. Pulling back onto blacktop I tried switching back to 4H and then 2H, but would not come out of 4L. I did not remember at that particular time that I needed to go to N or Park to get out of 4L. I continued to drive straight going slow still in 4L. I made two left turns slowly and after the last turn when I shifted to reverse it came out of 4L. During the two left turns in 4L it sounded like the front tires were rubbing on something. I figured out what happened, but was wondering if I did any damage ??? 4L still works fine in the grass with no noise. Should I have this checked?? Experienced 4X4'rs please advise.... THANX.

your fine. you do not want to drive on any hard suface with in 4 low or high. it does put alot of pressure on things. mostly turning. but i would say your ok. there is not mush to inspect without takeing apart. and you do not want to tell your ford dealer what you were doing, hehe. if still drive straight and no clicking. your ok. i would say you would have had to get on the gas alittle to hurt it. but going slow and not stoppng fast. that also could do damage things. good luck hope this helped.
