Hurst Short Throw!!!
So what's the deal with this? How much? How hard to install? Don't you have to crack the tranny to install due to internal linkages? Any information?

I don't have much info. I believe that the install should be pretty simple. If you look at the shifters on the Hurst site for the other ford vehicles, you see the assembley with the small ball on the end. I believe that this is the only part that "engages" the transmission. We won't have to open the tranny. Getting at the internal linkage would require dropping the tranny.
I am eagerly awaiting the arrivial of this shifter. I'm not sure when it's supposed to get here. When it does I will give any and all info I can.
Where did you find that info on the Hurst site?
Thanks man, that would be great...I'd love to have one, only downside is that much more leverage against 2nd, or 3rd, while it grinds away.
If this doesn't void my extended ESP warranty on the tranny, I'll be getting one for sure.
Just go to the Hurst real time catelog look up and punch in all your info.
While you're in there from the top, you might want to check to see if you can get to those rubber plugs for resealing. I believe this is about how it's done, but I'm not 100%.

I ordered one of these today from www.troyerperformance.com. Cost was on par with the other part numbers that Summit lists.
I'll be a smoth shifting fool as soon as the brown truck man brings it. I'll be sure to report my happiness.

ok, It cost $215 + shipping from Troyer. It will probably be cheaper from Summit when they have it. The one for the ranger (391 5025) is $199 from summit, but they don't have the 391 5026 for the 150's. I figured that I buy pleanty of stuff from Troyer, so I might as well give him the business. Also he is the only retailer that has this new part in stock.
