Ditto! I am interested in the valve body but how much more is it than a Transgo? And (this maybe a newbie question) does it void warranty?

I have the shift kit thats in Harley356's pic.Its the Fairbanks shift kit from Superior transmissions.Cost me 112 bucks.I liked this kit more than the others(Transgo,Baumann) cuz it was more complete. It came w/ a new 2-3 accumulator, new o/d servo, and most importantly a steel boost valve to replace the factory aluminum one.
With the kit alone I'm sayin wow!! the 1-2 shift lights up the tires and 2-3 aint far behind,at wot.Considering how good and solid this thing shifts,I cant imagine puttin a valve body in ontop of the shift kit,but I'm sure Factory Tech has his reasons.

I hear ya harley356,
I'm just sayin that the parts you have in the picture, minus v/body, are from the Fairbanks Shift kit.Pictured here(http://superior-transmission.com/pro...odeta_cnts.htm)
.
So now that you've laid the framework, when are you gonna get boosted .I highly recommend it.
I guess I dont have to tell you to enjoy the shifts!!!

ah-yes. Greg did say the springs came as a set, thats why i had a few spare ones.
dont know if i'd do the springs without the new valve body though.

anyway, just look up FactoryTech here on the boards, he's the genius that builds these things

Harley--

It seems that Factory Tech isn't on the sponsor's list anymore.
I tried emailing him, but he hasn't responded. Anyone seen this guy?

Look for the "Factory Tech Transmission Performance" vendor section here:

http://www.nloc.net/forum/forumdispl...s=&forumid=476

Read all about his performance parts and customer service and then leave him a private mail through the forum.

Or...

Read his article about shift kits, etc. here:

http://www.powersurgeperformance.net/shift.htm

And just buy one here:

http://www.powersurgeperformance.net...28All+years%29

Or buy one from him on Ebay here:

http://cgi6.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...40peoplepc.com

(if he has one on auction currently)

Mine, along with a full Monster Kit in a Box, will be delivered tomorrow.

The springs etc... are the Fairbanks kit, it was easier to outsource them. I could have sourced the srpings and stuff seprately, but didn't see any good reason to. I build the valve body myself, and I do replace the boost valve, along with a few other things. The intent was to make it easy for someone who doesn't want to risk drilling holes int eh valve body, losing checkballs and springs and doing things that are more or less irreversable if you don't like them. I tried very hard to copy the "feel" of the 4R100 accumulator kit I make for Lightnings and Super Duties and I think I got that pretty good. I'm having some problems getting cores back so far, I don't want ot charge a core charge but if they don't speed up in turn around time I may have to. I'm almost impossible to get a hold of, but I read my mail every day, at GBEvans@peoplepc.com

Thanks,

G

Harley#356,
Are you chirping the tires when shifting at WOT?

Anyone,
Has anyone installed one in a 4.6 yet? Are you chirping the tires when shifting at WOT. I have a B&M shift kit in my '77 Firebird. I love chirping the tires between shifts. If you pat the gas at the shift point it chirps the tire even more. That would be really cool if this kit would work like this in my F150 at WOT.

I've heard it does chirp the tires, I am going to install mine the week of the 19th since I will be on vacation and have the spare time. I am not going to be installing the pressure riser with the valvebody since I don't want neck snapping shifts, but the VB alone will be plenty hard enough from what I have heard. I will be sure to update you on how it does with my 4.6L.
