Question Will the 4R100 fit a Truck with the 4R70

I just put the Greg Evans monster box in my 2003 Lightning. I have my 4R100 out of my Lightning for sale, but I got to thinking about my 1997 F150 with the 4R70 having 65k miles on it and here I have this new 4R100 that is worth far more than the 1350 bucks I am selling it for.

My F150 Lariat has a 4.6 in it. Can I put this 4R100 in the F150 Lariat?

Thanks,

Rocks

You can put it in, but getting it to shift will be a trick. The PCM in your truck controls a 4R70W, it doesn't know how to make a 4R100 shift. Ford never made a 4.6L/4R100 combination, so you'll need to look at aftermarket companies to make the 4R100 shift in your truck.

I guess I am back to selling it for 1,350 bucks.

Time to list it in classifieds.
