OD Cancel Button E4OD

For the '95 truck in the sig.

When I push the OD cancel button anytime I am over 40 mph, it really slams HARD into 3rd. Afterward, it sometimes starts to shift really hard 1-2. The slamming 1-2 shift occurs here and there, but not consistently. Also, I often have a false 2-3 shift.

No codes at all. I had someone hook up their Snap-On while they drove (it shifted hard for them) and nothing.

Thanks for your input.

The od cancel slam is somewhat common, the Transgo shift kit helps this- sometimes. Inconsistant shift quality is also sometimes cured by the installation of the kit- if all of the electronics are functioning correctly, don't assume that they are just because there are no codes. Also, what is meant by a "false shift"?

By "false shift" I mean that it starts to shift, pauses, and then finishes the shift.

If it were me I would take a look at the accumulator body first, may as well install the SK while you're in there, you may have a broken accumulator spring. You may also may have a trans that is going south, you seem to have a few things going on here. When you drop the pan you may have your answer.

Broken 395 spring in the accumulator, and/or a worn out line modulator boost valve. Shoot me an address and I'll send you a new stock one. I replace them for the accumulator kit I sell and have them setting around.
