Fluid service needed

Is there any way for a do it yourselfer to get all the transmission fluid from the pan and torque conv. at the house without a torque conv. drain plug?
Mine does not have one but I dont trust the quickie lubes or my local dealer for a "power flush". Can I do anything to help my cause here at home? Thanks guys.

Anyone have input on this, I would like to see a DIY guide if anyone has one. I haven't looked, but if there's not a drain plug this may be a pain to do. I would like to change mine soon as well.

Thanks,

Rick

Only way to do it is to drain both the pan and TC but you still won't get it all. You'll still have at least 1.5 to 2 quarts you cna't get out.

Have your dealer do a flush if you don't want to/can't do the drain. It's really the only way (besides pulling it onto pieces and back together again.

There is an easy method that will change about 95% of the fluid. Take a look here:

I assume that all this is doing is allowing the transmission pump to pump out the old fluid while adding keeps the level up and the new fluid behind the old stuff.
Sounds like a really great way to take care of the maintence at home.
I guess the real important part is to shut the engine down as soon as you see air in the line hua?
Also, this dosnt hurt the tranny in any way does it?
Thanks again for the great info.

There is some difference, mainly in the aux cooler.

And to the other question in another post, no, this won't hurt the transmission. Do you think I'd tell you to do this if it did?
