Question 4R70 Swap

I have a 1999 F-150 5.4 with a 4R70. Is it possible to swap out the 4R70 and put in a 4r100?
Thanks
Mike

that's a good thought -

I'd like one in my '95. I suspect you need the computer too.

You will need a computer that operates a ''99 5.4L, plus make the wiring changes that are needed. The connectors on the 4R100 are different than those on the 4R70W.

Mark -
Am I right in thinking that a 4r100 would not physically mate without adapter(s) to a '95 F150 5.0L? Not to mention a computer solution would be unavailable.

... I guess what I am saying is I should quit drooling over the newer model trannies......huh?

Mike -
Good luck.

There were many E4ODs that had the 5.0L bellhousing. I don't think there were any 4R100s that did.
